Who We Are

GreenGirls.net is a network of powerful women (girls of all ages) who care deeply about our environment. We are committed to helping to protect the precious natural resources of our neighborhoods, communities, and the world at large. Our vision is a planet that is loved and protected by all.

GreenGirls Joni, Emilie, Ruth & MichaelWe ask ourselves "What kind of world do we want to live in?" and then take action to help create and maintain that kind of world. We think globally and act locally. We believe that everything we do has an effect on our environment.

We know that we are more powerful when we feel healthy, strong, balanced, and connected with nature. We find ways to learn how to be better environmental stewards, take better care of ourselves, and correct any nature-deficit disorders (read: get out and enjoy nature!). So we schedule interesting activities so that we can accomplish these things, network, and have fun together.

Would you like to receive announcements about future GreenGirls.net meetings and activities? If so, then subscribe to GreenGirls.net News.

Whether or not you can attend all of our events, you can help us spread the word while you're busy doing other things, and look great while doing so! Please visit our online store at CafePress where you can select from an assortment of tasteful gear — t-shirts, cap, coffee/tea mug, canvas bag, bumper sticker, and more — each imprinted with our GreenGirls.net logo.

GreenGirl extraordinaire CathieWe remember and thank Cathie Blackaller who originally planted and sprouted the seed for GreenGirls to come alive in Austin, Texas. What started out as getting together in her living room and writing letters is evolving into something that she would not have missed, learning new things, doing fun things, and taking action together! Oh, and did we mention making wonderful new friends?

The group is now being led by Joni Gilton. Read What GreenGirls.net Means to Me.
