Posting Rules

Here are the rules for posting to GreenGirls.net . . .

1. Write in Standard English using correct spelling and punctuation. This is NOT a chat room for casual conversation. We do not use chat room or 'short-cut' "English" on this web site. Posts using, for example, "kewl," "u" for "you," or no capitalization or punctuation allowed.

2. When posting make sure the topic and purpose has an environmental focus. Please stay on-topic. Straying off-topic too many times will result in being banned from the website. Postings for the purpose of political campaigns are prohibited.

3. Postings containing offensive language or attacks will be deleted. No inappropriate language or subject matter will be tolerated. If you chose to post something that is inappropriate, you will be permanently banned from the website. No warnings will be given.

4. Disagreeing with another poster will inevitably happen. However, “flaming” another poster will not be tolerated. You can post a dissenting opinion without attacking another poster. If you do, you will be banned.

5. If you are not a registered user, you may only post comments (which will be moderated).

6. To become a member (registered user), you must attend a GreenGirls.net meeting. When you provide your name, email address, and phone number on our sign-up list, you will be invited to become a member. Only members with 'group leader' status have permission to invite other women to become registered users.

7. Please try to keep your “signatures” to a minimum. It is extremely difficult to follow posts with short messages and really long signatures. Also, high graphic signatures eat up a lot of bandwidth and slow down the board. If you have signatures that fit either of these descriptions, we ask that you modify them.

8. Do not cut-and-paste entire articles or scientific journal information. Make a link to the reference. These articles are copyrighted and can not be reproduced without express written permission. All posts containing them will be deleted.

9. Once you press the Submit button at the bottom of your entry form, please proofread your item to make sure it reads well and displays nicely on the page, without jagged edges and without too many spaces between lines or paragraphs. You can go back and edit as many times as you like.

We reserve the right to delete postings we deem inappropriate, and ban any posters who do not comply with the rules of this board.

Just remember to keep things on-topic and have fun!

(Thanks to Michael Crichton's message board for some of the above wording.)
